We are looking for a Senior MS SQL Server and Cloud Technology Database Administrator (DBA) who is eager to contribute to the success of a diverse team. The DBA will be part of an international team, providing database management and hosting services to various Koch Industries companies. This role will be customer-facing and act as the primary point of contact for one of Koch Technologies' customers. Koch Industries is a privately held global organization with over 120,000 employees around the world, with subsidiaries involved in manufacturing, trading, and investments. As KT rapidly scales up its operations in India, its employees will get opportunities to carve out a career path for themselves within the organization. This role will have the opportunity to play a critical part in helping to strengthen the capabilities and technical offerings of Koch Technology (KT). Working closely with global colleagues would provide significant international exposure to the employees.
DBA would report to the Global DB Services Manager and would be responsible for supporting a portfolio of managed database systems. DBA will work closely with the customer, owning the database services relationship between that customer and Koch Technologies. DBA will also develop solutions and services catering to specific business issues as well as resolve database-related incidents. DBA shall have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and shall exhibit strong teamwork and organization skills.

What You Will Do
• Using your creativity and experience to develop and maintain innovative services in support of a growing portfolio of managed database systems.
• Providing tactical and strategic solutions to solve specific business problems by working closely with customers and other DBAs.
• Lending your database expertise to ongoing development projects across Koch companies .
• Resolving database-related incidents and service requests within SLAs.
• Communicate directly with customer database stakeholders.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
· 10+ years of hands-on MS SQL Server
· 5+ years of hands-on administration experience in Cloud-technology databases, including Azure,AWS EC2, RDS databases.
· Strong expertise in SQL programming, development, and performance tuning.
· Proven track record managing MS SQL Server versions 2012 to 2025 instances in a Standalone and Clustered configuration
· Proven ability to administer large OLTP databases in a mission-critical environment.
· Understanding & experience of database and storage design and best practices for AWS and on-prem.
· Strong knowledge of DB replication and always-on high availability features
· Experience with different backup/restore and disaster recovery solutions for various DB platforms.
· Experience managing customer engagement.
· Can speak/Write English along with Mandarin (bilingual)
What Will Put You Ahead
· Experience with:
o AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platforms
o AWS Lambda scripting
o Databases in Docker, AWS ECS containers
o SQL Server SSIS, SSAS, SSRS components
o Stored procedures, packages, functions, and triggers
· Expertise coding with PowerShell and Korn shell scripting languages
· Familiarity with AWS components including EC2, S3, EBS, Glacier, and snowflake.
· Knowledge and experience with computer hardware including servers, networks, SAN technologies, I/O subsystems, etc.
Previous consulting experience.· Must be willing to carry a company-provided smartphone, have home high-speed Internet, and may participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
