Georgia-Pacific’s Oriented Strand Board (OSB) plant in Fordyce, AR is seeking a motivated and safety-oriented individual to join our team as a Controls Systems Operator. This position creates value by supporting our Operations Team in the continuous manufacturing of our OSB product.
Employees in this role will work a 12-Hour rotating shift, rotating Days (6:00am-6:00pm) and Nights (6:00pm-6:00am). This includes, but is not limited to overtime, holidays, and weekends scheduled as needed.
Our Team
Our Georgia Pacific facility in Fordyce, AR manufactures Oriented Strand Board (OSB), compressed strands of wood chips that are bound together by adhesives which prevent moisture intrusion. This type of OSB is used for floor, wall, and roof sheathing in residential and light commercial construction applications. What You Will Do
- Operate HMI (Human-Machine Interface) Systems to defined standards and product specification targets
- Monitor and/or data entry into computer control systems
- Troubleshoot machines to optimize production
- Perform basic asset care duties to include routine preventative maintenance and cleaning of work area
- Work as a team to help meet or exceed production, waste, quality, and safety goals
- Operate and/or work around mobile equipment that ranges from forklifts to heavy equipment
- Adhere to all plant health, safety, and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures which includes but is not limited to wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). For safety reasons, you may be required to wear a face respirator. To ensure the proper fitting of safety equipment, minimal facial hair is mandatory
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
· Experience operating machines or equipment using computer-based monitoring or control systems
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working in a wood processing facility
- Experience identifying, analyzing, and troubleshooting quality issues and manufacturing equipment
- Leadership experience
