As an Engineering Lead – Mechanical, you will provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of engineers and designers supporting the design and execution of engineered-to-order products within John Zink's global engineering organization. In this role, you will leverage your engineering expertise, problem-solving capability, and leadership skills to drive high-quality design execution, strengthen team capability, and deliver innovative, reliable, and customer-focused solutions. You will collaborate with global stakeholders to ensure engineering deliverables meet customer expectations, project objectives, manufacturing requirements, and business goals.

What You Will Do
- Lead and support the successful execution of mechanical engineering deliverables for complex engineered-to-order products and projects.
- Coach, mentor, and develop engineers and designers by providing technical guidance, feedback, and knowledge-sharing opportunities.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to transform customer requirements into practical, manufacturable, and high-quality engineering solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement through standardization, design optimization, process simplification, and lessons learned.
- Promote engineering excellence by ensuring designs align with quality, safety, fabrication, and customer requirements.
- Influence technical decisions and support problem-solving efforts across engineering, manufacturing, and project teams.
- Help build organizational capability by fostering collaboration, accountability, and a culture of continuous learning.
- Communicate project status, technical risks, and key decisions effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in mechanical design, product engineering, equipment design, or engineered-to-order project execution.
- 3+ years of experience leading, coaching, or managing engineering teams or technical workstreams.
- Experience preparing, reviewing, or approving engineering drawings, 3D models, design calculations, and technical documentation.
- Working knowledge of fabrication practices, engineering change processes, manufacturability, and quality requirements.
- Experience using CAD and PLM tools in an engineering design environment.
- Strong communication, collaboration, planning, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience in combustion systems, emissions-control technologies, oil & gas, petrochemical, process equipment, or industrial equipment design.
- Exposure to global engineering execution, cross-functional project delivery, and manufacturing support environments.
- Experience implementing design automation, engineering standards, templates, or continuous improvement initiatives that improve engineering effectiveness.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and influence technical decisions across teams and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with industry codes, customer specifications, design-for-manufacturing practices, and engineering best practices.
- Experience supporting complex engineered-to-order products and custom equipment solutions.
