The Technical Writer in the GRTS Technical Documentation team is responsible for translating complex engineering and testing concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation. This role enables the conversion of localized expertise into standardized global knowledge, ensuring consistency across engineering and laboratory operations.
The individual will collaborate with global SMEs to develop structured technical content and leverage AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to enhance documentation quality and efficiency.
Our Team
The Global Reliability & Test Solutions (GRTS) team operates globally to standardize engineering and lab practices, transforming localized expertise into scalable knowledge across testing and reliability functions.
Our Technical Documentation team creates structured content such as GTIs, work instructions, and user guides, collaborating with global SMEs and leveraging AI tools to deliver clear, consistent, and high-quality documentation.
What You Will Do
? Develop and maintain technical documentation (GTIs, work instructions, user guides, gap analyses)
? Analyze and interpret specifications to create structured test elements and actionable instructions
? Identify gaps, overlaps, and missing requirements, and provide recommendations
? Collaborate with SMEs and global stakeholders to capture, validate, and improve technical content
? Create visual and multimedia documentation (diagrams, flowcharts, videos) to enhance usability
? Simplify complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly documentation
? Leverage AI tools (e.g., Copilot) for content creation, review, and process improvements
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical Communication, English, or related technical field
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience in engineering, testing, or manufacturing environment
- 1–2 years of experience in technical writing and documentation
What Will Put You Ahead
? Experience in project management and handling multiple stakeholders
? Exposure to automotive specifications (e.g., USCAR/OEM standards)
? Familiarity with ALM tools (Polarion) and document management systems (SharePoint, MDS)
? Experience in visual/video-based technical documentation
? Proficiency in AI-assisted tools for content creation and prompt design
? Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
