Your Job
You will contribute to the design, development and verification of medical devices for inhaled medicines, working from early concept through to late‑stage validation. You’ll translate requirements into specifications, develop components and prototypes, run analyses and testing, and ensure all work meets regulatory and quality standards. You’ll strengthen internal capability, collaborate across sites and partners, and help advance the Device Development Department’s technical excellence.
Our Team
The Device Development Department is a multidisciplinary engineering group focused on inhalation‑based medical devices. We work mostly on site in a flexible environment, collaborating closely with project teams, suppliers and external partners. The team values knowledge‑sharing, continuous improvement and building long‑term capability.
What You Will Do
Design translation — Convert design inputs into clear, actionable specifications for devices, components, test equipment and processes.
CAD & prototyping — Use CAD (preferably Creo), engineering design skills and prototyping methods to create components, functional prototypes and test rigs.
Testing & analysis — Plan, execute and interpret empirical testing, development analyses and data assessments; produce clear technical reports.
Documentation — Write specifications, verification plans, protocols and validation/test‑method documentation.
Regulatory compliance — Apply ISO 13485, ISO 14971 and 21 CFR 820.30 to ensure compliant device development.
Continuous improvement — Enhance internal practices, support capability building and collaborate effectively across teams and partners.
Desirable (experienced‑level):
Review and approve design, specification, validation and risk‑management documentation.
Provide technical direction and recognised expertise in device design or development.
Present technical reports at design reviews.
Apply deeper knowledge of medical device development, mechanics, fluid mechanics, plastics, manufacturing and prototyping.
Use tools such as LabVIEW, Python, MATLAB and advanced Creo workflows.
Mentor junior engineers and strengthen team capability.
Who You Are
You are an engineer with strong self‑awareness, integrity and a commitment to continuous learning. You collaborate well, share knowledge openly and build trusted relationships. You’re resilient, adaptable and motivated by solving problems and creating long-term value. You bring a proactive, innovative mindset and consistently deliver high‑quality results.
What Will Put You Ahead
Recognised expertise in one or more areas of device design or development.
Strong capability in empirical testing, data interpretation and technical reporting.
Experience with advanced tools (LabVIEW, Python, MATLAB, Creo).
Deep understanding of medical device development, mechanics, plastics and manufacturing technologies.
Ability to mentor others and elevate team capability.
A 2:1 or above in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Design.
