Power & Recovery Reliability Engineer (Asset Availability Leader)

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our team as an Asset Availability Leader supporting the Power & Recovery Department. This role will report to the Asset Availability Leader who is part of the Mill Operational Excellence Team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to partner with the Power & Recovery Operating Department, the Reliability Team, and Corporate Technical Resources to drive reduction in downtime by implementing systemic and sustainable systems.
Our Team
The Brunswick Cellulose facility is the largest integrated fluff pulp mills in the country with a modern woodyard, fiberline, three paper machines, waste treatment plant, and utilities operations. The Brunswick Cellulose Mill, located in the southeast corner of Georgia is within minutes of downtown Brunswick and about an hour from Jacksonville, FL to the south and Savannah, GA to the north.
What You Will Do
- Partner with an operating department to provide
- Ownership & facilitation of the unplanned event and chronic issue Root Cause Failure Analysis program
- Owner of unplanned event database tracking and loss accounting
- A link to the reliability team and corporate reliability and asset care resources
- Development and management of asset strategies
- Systematic and sustainable processes for equipment reliability – operator basic care, preventative maintenance routes, & predictive maintenance routes
- Engage with corporate technical resources to integrate into mill operations.
- Work with new engineers, co-ops, and interns to build future mill leaders.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, process engineering, and reliability to troubleshoot process and equipment issues
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Experience in a process engineering, process optimization, or supervisory/leadership role within a heavy industrial environment (pulp/paper, chemical, or petrochemical)
- Experience driving change, implementing process improvements, and achieving tangible results.
- Experience participating in or leading Root Cause Failure Analysis
What Will Put You Ahead
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or pulp and paper science
- Prior supervisory/leadership experience managing and mentoring direct reports.
- Operations, maintenance, or reliability experience in a pulp and paper facility.
- Knowledge of process optimization strategies and methodologies, such as Six Sigma, Lean, or related frameworks
