DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Engage in optical product design reviews at the earliest stage, conduct rigorous Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assemblability assessments tailored to optical connectivity components. Deliver targeted process optimization proposals for critical requirements including high-precision ferrule alignment, fiber insertion loss control, and 100% valid optical performance testing, to eliminate manufacturability barriers before trial production.
2. Act as the formal liaison between the optical design team and on-site production teams. Ensure all design specifications for fiber geometry, connector assembly tolerances and test criteria are accurately transmitted and fully understood by manufacturing teams, while collecting, prioritizing and feeding back on-site trial production data and operational bottlenecks to the design team to support rapid design iteration.
3. Lead root cause analysis for non-conformances identified during new product trial runs. Develop and implement design-level corrective solutions for identified optical component defects, drive closed-loop verification of improvement actions, and support the team to achieve the target first-pass yield and full mass production readiness on schedule.
4. Own continuous process improvement for launched optical connectivity products, support the requirement definition, on-site validation and deployment of assembly & testing automation solutions, to reduce manual operation variance and scale up production capacity stably.
5. Provide routine operational support for the optical R&D team during low NPI workload periods, to maintain steady operation of the full product development pipeline.
SCOPE: Serving as the core cross-functional bridge between the optical product design team and the pilot & mass production teams, this role owns end-to-end NPI delivery for new optical connectivity solutions, drives process optimization and automation implementation, and ensures smooth, low-risk product launches with fast yield ramp-up.
