Georgia-Pacific’s Corrugated division is seeking a Plant Superintendent to lead both corrugator operations at our San Leandro, CA facility. This is an opportunity to make a direct impact in a high-performing, safety-driven, and growth-oriented operation.
As Plant Superintendent, you’ll lead a talented team of hourly and salaried employees in a union environment, driving improvements in safety, quality, efficiency, and reliability. You’ll have a hands-on role on the production floor and provide strategic leadership aligned with our Principle Based Management® (PBM) philosophy, empowering people, driving innovation, and creating long-term value.

As a key member of the leadership team, you’ll collaborate across production, maintenance, quality, and commercial teams to ensure that our corrugated products meet the highest standards, and our employees have the tools and support to succeed.
What You Will Do
- Lead daily corrugator operations, from the roll room to finished products, ensuring excellence in safety, quality, production efficiency, and environmental compliance.
- Coach, train, and develop operations personnel to strengthen technical capability, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Partner with plant leadership to align production priorities with business goals, ensuring delivery of top-quality products at optimal cost and speed.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, to enhance reliability, waste reduction, and run-to-order performance.
- Collaborate closely with maintenance and scheduling teams to troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain uptime on corrugator and converting equipment.
- Create a positive, high-performance culture, emphasizing accountability, teamwork, and open communication.
- Spend time on the floor, engaging with operators, understanding challenges, and supporting hands-on problem-solving.
- Mentor and develop supervisors across shifts to build a strong leadership pipeline and ensure consistent operational standards.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Proven leadership experience in corrugated manufacturing operations, with accountability for production, quality, and safety performance.
- In-depth knowledge of corrugator systems, roll room operations, waste management, and converting equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a continuous improvement environment focused on safety, reliability, and efficiency.
- Strong operational acumen with a track record of partnering across functions, particularly with maintenance and production. to troubleshoot and optimize performance.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related technical discipline.
- Certified in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma, with proven experience applying process improvement tools in a manufacturing environment.
For this role, we anticipate paying $120,000 - $150,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
