Molex is seeking a Senior Engineer, NPI Support to drive manufacturing strategy and support successful new product introductions across our global operations. In this role, you will evaluate manufacturing readiness, recommend optimal production locations, and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure products are launched efficiently, cost-effectively, and with minimal risk. You will play a key role in bridging product development and manufacturing execution, enabling scalable and sustainable growth.
Our Team
You will be part of the DSS organization and collaborate with Product Management, Project Management, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, and global manufacturing sites. Our team focuses on enabling successful product launches through strategic manufacturing planning and cross-functional partnership.
What You Will Do
- Lead manufacturing site assessments for NPI and mass production based on capability, capacity, cost, supply chain readiness, and customer requirements.
- Develop and recommend manufacturing strategies that support business objectives and successful product launches.
- Evaluate manufacturing risks early in project lifecycles and drive mitigation plans before execution.
- Provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) assessments to improve manufacturability, quality, scalability, and cost competitiveness.
- Review tooling strategies, automation opportunities, process capabilities, and capacity requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and manufacturing sites to align decisions and priorities.
- Analyze data and business scenarios to support manufacturing location recommendations and operational strategies.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Project Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, industrial engineering, NPI, or project execution within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, NPI methodologies, capacity planning, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders across multiple functions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other business applications used for project and manufacturing analysis.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience in product launches, manufacturing transfers, plant selection, or operations strategy.
- Knowledge of capacity planning, supply chain planning, cost analysis, and make-versus-buy evaluations.
- Experience supporting multiple manufacturing sites in a regional or global environment.
- SAP experience.
- Project Management certification (PMP, CAPM, or equivalent).
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or related continuous improvement certifications.
- Ability to communicate in Mandarin to support collaboration with Chinese-speaking business partners.
