About the Role:
The Package Engineer is responsible for developing and optimizing product packaging solutions from concept through mass production. This role ensures products are protected throughout transportation, storage, and customer handling while meeting quality, cost, reliability, sustainability, and manufacturing requirements.

What You Will Do
1. Packaging Design & Development:
Develop packaging concepts for new products.
Define packaging specifications, drawings, BOMs, and documentation.
Optimize packaging for manufacturability and logistics.
Standardize packaging designs across product families.
2. Packaging Validation & Reliability:
Develop packaging validation plans.
Conduct package drop, vibration, compression, and transportation testing.
Analyze packaging failures and implement corrective actions.
Ensure packaging protects products throughout the supply chain.
Work with lab engineers to validate packaging performance.
3. Manufacturing & Industrialization:
Drive cost reduction initiatives through design optimization, material substitution, process improvements, and supplier sourcing strategies.
Support packaging implementation at manufacturing sites.
Develop packaging work instructions.
Optimize packaging assembly efficiency.
Improve packaging yield and quality.
4. Supplier Development:
Work with packaging suppliers to develop new packaging solutions.
Qualify second-source packaging suppliers.
Drive supplier quality improvement.
Review supplier capability and manufacturing processes.
Support supplier audits when required.
5. Logistics & Customer Support:
Coordinate packaging requirements with customers.
Resolve customer packaging issues.
6. Documentation:
Work with packaging suppliers to develop new packaging solutions
Maintain packaging specifications.
Maintain packaging BOMs.
Create packaging drawings.
Maintain ECN/ECR documentation.
Develop packaging design guidelines.
7. Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work with PDE, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, Procurement, and Manufacturing.
Participate in package design reviews.
Support customer meetings.
Support supplier technical discussions.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of packaging engineering experience.
• Experience with packaging design for electronic or mechanical products (Precision electronic products weighing 2–10 kg)
• Experience with packaging validation.
• Knowledge of transportation and logistics standards.
• Experience with CAD software.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Experience working with suppliers.
• Experience supporting NPI packaging development and production ramp.
What Will Put You Ahead
• Experience in packaging design for precision electronic products, such as servers, networking equipment, or liquid cooling products.
• Experience developing protective packaging for fragile, high-value, or precision mechanical assemblies.
• Knowledge of packaging standards and test methods, including ISTA, ASTM, IEC, GR, and other applicable industry standards.
• Experience with packaging validation, transportation simulation, and environmental testing.
• Experience with packaging material selection, cost optimization, and packaging standardization
• Experience working with packaging suppliers and contract manufacturers.
• Experience supporting global manufacturing sites and international logistics.
