Molex is seeking a strategic and customer-centric Group Manager, Market Development & Product Strategy to help shape the future of our low to mid-power signal connector portfolio within the Power & Signal Business Unit (PSBU). In this role, you will lead a global team focused on understanding customer needs, identifying emerging market opportunities, and translating Voice of Customer insights into product and technology strategies that drive long-term growth. You will work at the intersection of customers, markets, engineering, and product management to uncover unmet needs, identify portfolio gaps, and influence new product development investments.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical and commercial acumen, with the ability to engage deeply with customers, understand evolving market dynamics, and partner across the organization to deliver innovative solutions that create value for both customers and Molex.
The position can be performed remotely; however, proximity to our Lisle, IL headquarters is preferred to support collaboration with key stakeholders.
Our Team
You will be part of Molex's Power and Signal Business Unit (PSBU), a global organization focused on delivering innovative connector solutions across key industrial, automotive, appliance, and general market applications. The team serves as the bridge between customers, markets, and product development. We partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, Technology, Sales, and New Market Development teams to identify where the market is heading, uncover whitespace opportunities, and help shape the next generation of solutions that support the long-term growth of the business.
What You Will Do
- Lead and develop a global team responsible for market development, customer engagement, and growth initiatives across key target markets.
- Build deep relationships with customers to understand business challenges, technology roadmaps, emerging application needs, and future market opportunities.
- Drive Voice of Customer initiatives and translate customer and market insights into product strategy, portfolio investments, and new product development priorities.
- Identify market gaps, whitespace opportunities, adjacent markets, and emerging technology trends to help shape the long-term growth strategy of the business.
- Partner with Product Management, Engineering, Technology, and Project Management teams to develop innovative application-based solutions that address customer requirements and strengthen Molex's market position.
- Develop and execute market strategies that support revenue growth, market share expansion, profitability, and long-term business objectives.
- Serve as a strategic leader for assigned markets and key customer accounts, providing insight into competitive dynamics, industry trends, and future growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with global Sales Engineers and commercial teams to align customer engagement strategies, support technical discussions, provide market intelligence, and accelerate growth opportunities.
- Support strategic business planning through investment analysis, business case development, CAPEX justification, pricing strategy, and portfolio planning activities.
- Represent Molex as a subject matter expert through customer presentations, technical seminars, industry events, trade shows, and thought leadership activities, while supporting the development of technical and marketing materials that enable successful product launches and growth initiatives.
- Travel Expectations: Approximately 20%
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- 5+ years of experience in Market Development, Product Management, Product Strategy, Business Development, Strategic Marketing, Technical Sales or related experience.
- Experience working directly with customers to identify business, technical, or application requirements.
- Experience influencing cross-functional teams and driving initiatives across commercial and technical organizations.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Bachelor's degree, preferrably in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
- Experience in connectors, interconnect systems, industrial components, electromechanical products, or related technologies.
- Proven ability to translate customer and market needs into new product development opportunities and portfolio growth strategies.
- Strong understanding of Voice of Customer methodologies, market segmentation, and opportunity assessment.
- Experience evaluating competitive landscapes, market trends, and emerging technologies to identify growth opportunities.
- Experience leading teams and developing talent within technical, product, or market-facing organizations.
For this role, we anticipate paying $140,000 - $175,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
