Responsible for DSS I/O product design and development, managing design activities independently and delivering outcomes to stakeholders. Leads new product creation and modifications from concept to completion, ensuring compliance with Molex, industry, and customer performance standards
Our Team
This CSBU team at the Global Technical Center in Bengaluru has engineering ownership across several Connector Product Lines, provides Product Design and Validation Services to customers and stakeholders in Datacom and Specialty Solutions Division located across the globe.
What You Will Do
· Design and development of EMI/EMC shielding Sheetmetal cages for high-speed data cables for data transfer & storage, cloud computing and artificial intelligence starting with customer voice analysis and idea generation, moving through concept design, specification setup, 3D design, manufacturability analysis, Risk analysis and mitigation, prototyping, testing, qualification
· Conduct feasibility studies, testing new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp
· Conduct design reviews, participate in cross-functional meetings, take the lead in providing technical insights and actions for design improvements
· Conduct risk assessment and come up with solutions to mitigate impact.
· Support customers, sales, PM, and plant teams with technical expertise, carrying out necessary tests, analytical studies, troubleshooting, and verification processes
· Ability to work independently, lead projects, and mentor junior team members to deliver on timelines and quality standards
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or equivalent science degree
- 6 to 9 years of experience in Product Design / Product Engineering activities.
- Proficient in geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T)
- Detailed understanding of manufacturing processes including stamping, plating, and assembly.
- Knowledge in Procut design and development, including but not limited to, material selection, tolerance analysis, DFMEA, product qualification, etc.
- Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) to meet mechanical, manufacturing and cost requirements
- Demonstrated technical ability in independently carrying out design and project-related tasks.
- Ability to evaluate risk in design, come up with mitigation plans and assess solution alternatives
- Any CAD skills (2D drafting, 3D modeling)
- Good Conceptual, problem solving and Analytical Skills
What Will Put You Ahead
- Additional qualification in Design/Manufacturing/Tool & Die engineering from NTTF, GTTC or similar institutes
- Knowledge or Hands on experience on domains like Product Design, Mold Design, Press tool Design, Automation Design
- Design and manufacturing expertise in sheet metal & related tooling’s
