Your Job
Purpose: This position will perform measurements and gauging of manufactured parts to assure their conformance with the customers’ specifications. In performance of their duties, the gauge lab technician will develop and document data relative to statistical process control requirements, charts, etc. In addition, this position will cross-train on CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) and environmental lab.
Qualifications:
- Quality Experience Preferred
- Metrology Basic CMM training
- ISO/TS 16949 Internal Auditor training
- Computer skills
- Work with little supervision
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret specifications, drawings, blue prints and engineering instructions.
- Develop, use and interpret statistical process control charts.
- Systematically analyze data and assist in the resolution of process problems noted.
- Perform necessary measurements.
- Layout basic parts using geometrical dimensioning and tolerance
- Mid-level programming of part layout
- Mid-level programming of gage certifications
- Assist in gage repair and certifications
- Assist in gage repeatability and reproducibility test
- Conduct SPC studies and capabilities
- Assist with organization of CMM Lab and housekeeping
- Assist in maintaining process gage area
- Provide support for the Physicals Lab
- Provide data collection and analysis as required
- Computer literate, able to function with word processing, statistical and spreadsheet programs.
- Assist receiving with data entry
- Receiving inspection
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently required to stand and walk; use hands to finger fine manipulation, handle, and feel; reach with arms and hands above head; talk and hear
- Sometimes required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or sit
- Specific vision requirements: close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Must lift up to 50 lbs. on occasion.
- Ability to work in fluctuating temperatures & perform work indoors/outdoors as needed.
