Production and Materials Planner is responsible for enabling seamless execution of the production plan by converting customer forecasts, demand signals and business priorities into executable production and material plans. This role combines production planning, materials planning, purchasing, supplier coordination and SAP transactional ownership to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations, optimized inventory levels and strong on-time delivery performance.
Our Team
You will join a rapidly growing manufacturing organization supporting next-generation fiber optic technologies, global customers and strategic expansion initiatives. This role offers strong exposure to production planning, purchasing, supplier management, SAP execution and cross-functional collaboration within Molex and Koch Industries.
The position works closely with Production, Engineering, Warehouse, Quality, Customer Service, Finance, Global Sourcing and external suppliers to identify risks early, resolve material constraints, support production ramp-up and strengthen the overall supply chain execution discipline at the DSS Rokitki manufacturing site.
What You Will Do
- Convert customer forecasts, demand plans and business priorities into executable production schedules that support customer commitments and plant production targets.
- Analyze availability of direct and indirect materials to ensure production continuity and timely execution of the production plan.
- Review material requirements, inventory positions, supplier commitments, demand changes and production constraints to identify risks before they impact operations.
- Release, monitor and coordinate production orders in SAP, including material availability checks, order readiness and follow-up on execution status.
- Perform MRP and material availability reviews; coordinate corrective actions when shortages, allocation issues or planning gaps are identified.
- Manage purchasing activities for assigned direct and indirect materials, including purchase order placement, confirmation follow-up and open-order monitoring.
- Work proactively with suppliers to reduce lead times, improve responsiveness, secure material availability and support supplier delivery performance.
- Escalate bottlenecks, gating items, supplier constraints, capacity risks and material shortages that could impact customer deliveries or production schedules.
- Collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, Warehouse, Quality, Customer Service, Finance and Global Sourcing to align priorities and resolve planning or supply issues.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels by balancing production needs, customer service, working capital targets and operational requirements.
- Analyze planning and procurement KPIs such as material availability, supplier OTD, past-due purchase orders, inventory performance, production plan attainment and expedite activity; recommend and follow up on corrective actions.
- Ensure SAP ERP master data, planning parameters and transactional discipline are accurate, timely and compliant with company processes and internal controls.
- Support dashboard-driven performance management using Excel, SAP reporting tools and Power BI where applicable.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations or a related field or relevant experience.
- Experience in production planning, materials planning, purchasing, supply chain or manufacturing operations.
- Practical experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
- Strong analytical capability with the ability to interpret demand, inventory, supplier and production data and translate it into clear actions.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to operate with urgency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal, required.
- Good Polish communication skills required for effective collaboration with local operations teams.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience in manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of demand planning, inventory management, supplier performance management and production ramp-up support.
- Experience working in a fast-growing manufacturing site or supporting new process / product transfers.
- Familiarity with Power BI, SAP reporting, dashboard-based performance management or advanced Excel tools.
- Experience working with international suppliers, global sourcing teams or cross-functional global stakeholders
