At Molex, we are seeking a Junior Operational Excellence Engineer to support continuous improvement initiatives at our Nogales site. This position will contribute to high-impact projects related to operational transformation, plant expansion, facility layout redesign, material flow optimization, resource efficiency, and process improvement. Our Team
You will be part of a team that drives operational improvements and transformation projects at the site, working closely with Production, Engineering, Planning, Materials, Quality, Finance, EH&S, and other key functions. This role reports to the Operational Excellence Manager and participates in initiatives that support business growth and efficiency.
What You Will Do
- Support continuous improvement projects focused on operational efficiency, cost savings, and resource optimization.
- Analyze processes, operational metrics, and workflows to identify improvement opportunities.
- Contribute to facility layout redesign and material flow optimization as part of site expansion efforts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements in production and operational processes.
- Provide support for activities related to master data and SAP processes, a critical component for the function.
- Contribute to initiatives related to organization, standardization, 5S, and digital transformation within operations.
- Assist in tracking KPIs and implementing corrective or improvement actions on the shop floor.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree (completed or in final stage) in Industrial, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, or related field.
- Interest in developing a career in continuous improvement, operational excellence, or manufacturing.
- Intermediate English for professional communication.
- Ability to work on-site in Nogales.
- Availability for occasional travel; a valid visa is a plus.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Academic, internship, or co-op experience in manufacturing, continuous improvement, logistics, materials, or process analysis.
- Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- Familiarity with SAP, master data, or operational KPI analysis.
- Experience supporting layout, material flow, or productivity projects.
- Interest in learning within a dynamic environment focused on expansion and operational transformation.
