Global Product Manager
Molex Copper Solutions Business Unit is looking for an enterprising Global Product Manager to support and grow a major enterprise interconnect product line serving the datacenter, networking, server, storage, communications, and broader electronics hardware markets.
This product line is a well-established, highly successful platform with significant annual revenue and strong profitability. While mature relative to Molex’s newest advanced interconnect platforms, it remains a critical solution for many global customers and an important part of Molex’s enterprise hardware portfolio.
This role is focused on strong commercial product management: maintaining profitability, supporting strategic customers, managing pricing discipline, leading customer negotiations, enabling sales, protecting existing business, and selectively pursuing new opportunities where the product line continues to provide strong customer value. The ideal candidate is commercially minded, organized, proactive, globally collaborative, and comfortable working across sales, engineering, operations, finance, quality, and manufacturing teams.
Essential Functions
- Own the global commercial performance of the assigned product line, including revenue, profitability, pricing, forecast accuracy, margin improvement, lifecycle management, and customer support priorities.
- Develop and execute product-line business plans that protect and grow revenue across enterprise, datacenter, networking, server, storage, industrial, communications, and other strategic customers.
- Maintain strong profitability through proactive pricing actions, disciplined quote management, customer negotiations, cost-reduction initiatives, value-based selling, and commercial decision-making.
- Partner with global sales, business development, customer service, finance, engineering, operations, quality, and manufacturing teams to support existing customers and identify opportunities for continued growth.
- Lead customer pricing discussions and commercial negotiations in partnership with sales teams, including annual price reviews, contract discussions, cost pass-throughs, special pricing requests, and margin improvement opportunities.
- Monitor product-line profitability by customer, region, part family, and application, and take proactive action to address margin erosion, unfavorable mix, cost increases, or pricing inconsistencies.
- Support sales teams with product positioning, customer presentations, competitive comparisons, pricing guidance, and commercial strategy for both existing business and selective new opportunities.
- Work closely with operations and supply chain teams to support capacity planning, forecast alignment, inventory management, lead-time expectations, and customer demand changes.
- Partner with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to support cost reduction, yield improvement, quality improvement, and manufacturing optimization initiatives.
- Lead product lifecycle activities for assigned products, including sustaining activities, customer transitions, part rationalization, product extensions, and end-of-life planning when appropriate.
- Evaluate market trends, customer demand patterns, competitive activity, and technology shifts that may impact the assigned product family.
- Identify and pursue selective new business opportunities where the product line remains a strong fit based on performance, cost, availability, customer preference, or platform continuity.
- Develop and maintain sales enablement tools, product collateral, training materials, product guides, and internal communication materials to support global commercial execution.
- Serve as the global product-line owner and internal point of contact for assigned products, helping Molex teams make informed decisions on pricing, customer support, supply priorities, product positioning, and profitability.
Who You Are
- Experience in product management, commercial management, sales, business development, program management, engineering, or a related role within the electronics, connector, cable assembly, semiconductor, datacenter hardware, networking, or manufacturing industry.
- Strong commercial mindset with the ability to manage revenue, profitability, pricing, forecast, customer negotiations, and product-line business performance.
- Ability to analyze business data, understand margin drivers, evaluate customer opportunities, and make informed commercial recommendations.
- Comfortable working with global customers and internal teams across sales, operations, engineering, finance, quality, supply chain, and manufacturing.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate product strategy, commercial actions, customer issues, and business performance to global stakeholders.
- Ability to build relationships, influence across functions, and drive alignment in a global matrixed organization.
- Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities across customers, regions, products, and internal stakeholders.
- Comfortable supporting mature product lines where success depends on commercial discipline, customer focus, operational execution, and continuous profit improvement.
- Able to learn technical product fundamentals and customer applications well enough to support sales teams, understand customer needs, and communicate product value effectively.
- Willing and able to travel to Molex sites, customers, suppliers, and manufacturing locations as business needs require.
What Puts You Ahead
- Experience in the connector, cable assembly, interconnect, electronic components, or datacenter hardware industry.
- Experience managing a mature or high-revenue product line with responsibility for pricing, profitability, customer negotiations, lifecycle management, and commercial growth.
- Experience working with enterprise, networking, server, storage, telecommunications, hyperscale, OEM, ODM, EMS, or contract manufacturing customers.
- Experience working in a global business environment with customers and internal teams across Asia, North America, and Europe.
- Experience supporting products manufactured in Asia and sold globally.
- Experience with pricing strategy, margin improvement, cost reduction, quote management, forecast alignment, and customer contract negotiations.
