Molex is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to support our Data Communications and Specialty Solutions Division in Singapore. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of stamping equipment and automation systems that support high-volume manufacturing operations. You will play a key role in reducing downtime, improving equipment effectiveness, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.
Our Team
You will join the Singapore Stamping Operations team, working closely with Production, Toolmakers, Engineering, and external equipment suppliers. The team is focused on delivering world-class manufacturing performance through equipment reliability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
What You Will Do
- Drive equipment reliability through preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control system issues to minimize production downtime.
- Support production teams by ensuring equipment availability and optimizing machine performance.
- Lead initiatives to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
- Support vision systems setup, optimization, and troubleshooting for production and tooling applications.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurring equipment failures.
- Collaborate with vendors on equipment upgrades, retrofits, and new machine installations.
- Contribute to automation and digitalization projects to improve maintenance efficiency and operational performance.
- Develop maintenance procedures, checklists, and standard operating procedures to support sustainable operations.
- Provide technical coaching and mentorship to maintenance technicians and junior engineers.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company maintenance and safety standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment repair experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control systems.
- Proven hands-on troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience in stamping, metal forming, or precision manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of PLC programming, automation systems, and machine controls.
- Experience supporting industrial vision systems and automated production equipment.
- Familiarity with CMMS and data-driven maintenance practices.
- Experience with predictive maintenance tools such as vibration analysis and thermography.
- Certifications in maintenance, automation, or reliability engineering.
- Experience leading and developing maintenance teams.
