Job Description
Guardian Glass is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of float, coated and fabricated glass products, serving architectural, residential, interior, transportation and technical glass applications. Our glass can be found in homes, offices, vehicles and some of the world’s most recognizable projects.
At our manufacturing facility in Częstochowa—one of the largest production sites in Guardian Glass’ European network—we operate two float lines, two coater lines and two lamination lines. We are looking for a motivated and experienced Technical Coater Manager to lead technical excellence, process stability and continuous improvement across our coater operations.
About the Role
As Technical Coater Manager, you will be responsible for driving safety, operational excellence, process reliability and technical performance across two coater lines in a complex, fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will work closely with production, engineering, maintenance and other cross-functional teams to deliver stable, predictable and efficient operations while promoting a strong “One Team” culture.
What You Will Do
- Partner with production and support teams to improve safety, quality, throughput and operational efficiency.
- Identify, prioritize and execute improvement opportunities that increase coater performance, reduce losses and add operational capabilities.
- Own technical performance, process stability and production results for the coater area.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, transformation projects and structured problem-solving activities.
- Build strong partnerships with internal and external resources to apply proven practices and maintain consistent processes.
- Support operations in a 24/7 manufacturing environment, ensuring timely technical escalation and effective decision-making.
Basic Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to align teams around safety, quality and operational objectives.
- Proven leadership, coaching and people-development skills.
- Experience using statistical, analytical and engineering methods to solve technical and operational problems.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Knowledge of thin-film optical processes, sputtering, vacuum processes and related equipment.
- Experience in glass, ceramic or other high-temperature manufacturing processes, including furnace, combustion, forming or annealing theory.
- Managerial experience in a large manufacturing or continuous process environment.
- Experience with data mining, statistical analysis and performance-tracking methods.
- Experience managing complex projects and developing effective corrective actions.
- Ability to conduct root-cause analysis and apply structured problem-solving techniques.
