Your Job
As a Senior Automation Development Engineer, you will play a key role in the development of advanced automated assembly solutions for next-generation connector and electronic products. You will lead automation equipment innovation from concept through implementation, driving improvements in productivity, quality, and manufacturing capability.
Working closely with Product Development, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Automation teams, you will help enable successful product launches and continuous manufacturing improvements in a fast-paced global environment.
What You Will Do
- Lead the design and development of automated assembly equipment, tooling, and manufacturing processes for new products
- Drive machine standardization and modularization initiatives to improve development efficiency and scalability
- Partner with Product Development teams to assess manufacturability and automation feasibility during new product development
- Collaborate with vision system and control engineers to develop integrated automation and inspection solutions
- Lead equipment build, debugging, validation, and process optimization activities
- Support new product introduction (NPI) and drive successful transition into volume production
- Analyze manufacturing and product-related issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions
- Provide technical leadership to engineers and technicians throughout equipment development projects
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, reliability, productivity, and cost optimization
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree or above in Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field
- Experience developing automated assembly equipment and manufacturing processes
- Experience leading automation equipment projects from concept, design, build, and validation through production implementation
- Strong mechanical design capability using NX or similar 3D CAD software
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience applying Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) methodology
- Understanding of manufacturing processes including stamping, molding, and automated assembly
- Knowledge of motion control systems and machine vision applications
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills

- Experience integrating machine vision inspection systems into manufacturing equipment
- Knowledge of precision tooling and fixture design

- Strong collaboration and cross-functional project leadership skills
Industry Experience Preferred
Candidates with experience in highly automated manufacturing environments, including connector, electronics, automotive, or medical device industries, will be highly valued.
