Molex is seeking an Assistant Engineer, Metrology to support measurement-related activities throughout the New Product Introduction (NPI) process. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate measurement systems, effective fixture development, and reliable inspection processes that support successful product launches and quality objectives.
Our Team
You will be part of the DSS organization, partnering with Product Design, Manufacturing, Process and Tooling Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing Plants, Product Management, and Sales & Marketing teams. The Metrology team plays a critical role in supporting Advance Quality Planning (AQP) and ensuring smooth execution of NPI programs through accurate measurement and quality validation activities.
What You Will Do
- Support measurement-related activities during the new product introduction (NPI) cycle.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external suppliers on fixture design, fabrication, and rework activities.
- Review fixtures and engineering drawings before measurement program creation.
- Partner with Advance Quality Planning (AQP) teams to prioritize measurement activities and project requirements.
- Perform Measurement System Analysis (MSA), capability studies, and other statistical analyses to support quality objectives.
- Update and maintain quality documentation, including inspection checklists, control plans, and work instructions.
- Schedule and coordinate measurement and testing requests to meet project timelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Diploma in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Knowledge of metrology tools, measurement principles, and GD&T.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, NX, SolidWorks, or similar engineering software.
- Able to work independently, stay organized, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience working in a manufacturing, quality, metrology, or laboratory environment.
- Experience using video measurement systems and metrology equipment.
- Knowledge of Minitab or other statistical analysis software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Exposure to NPI, quality engineering, or product validation activities.
