Your Job
Koch Engineered Solutions is looking to add a Welding Supervisor to our new manufacturing facility in support of our Koch-Glitsch business. This position is in Apodaca, Mexico. The role is responsible for leading welding operations, ensuring safe execution, high-quality welds, productivity, employee development, and alignment with engineering requirements in an Engineer-to-Order (ETO) environment.
1st Shift: 6:00am - 3:00pm
2nd Shift: 2:30pm - 11:30pm
3rd Shift: 10:00pm - 6:00am
(Must be flexible to rotate shifts, Monday - Friday)

What You Will Do
- Lead and develop a team of welders and fabrication personnel through coaching, mentoring, training, and performance management.
- Drive a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement within the welding department.
- Coordinate daily welding and fabrication activities to meet production schedules, customer commitments, and engineering requirements.
- Partner closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to resolve production challenges and support successful project execution.
- Monitor welding operations to ensure compliance with weld procedures, engineering drawings, quality standards, and customer specifications.
- Support execution of engineering changes, custom builds, and one-off manufacturing projects in an Engineer-to-Order environment.
- Analyze department performance metrics including safety, productivity, quality, rework, schedule attainment, and labor utilization.
- Identify and eliminate bottlenecks affecting throughput, quality, and delivery performance.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions related to weld defects, quality concerns, and production interruptions.
- Assist in workforce planning, staffing, skill development, cross-training, and succession planning for welding personnel.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, productivity, and employee capability development.
- Ensure proper maintenance and utilization of welding equipment, fixtures, and department resources.
The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements (Basic Qualifications):
- Experience leading, coaching, and developing manufacturing employees.
- Experience supervising welding, fabrication, or metal fabrication operations.
- Knowledge of MIG welding processes and welding best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols.
- Experience with production scheduling, manpower planning, and prioritization of multiple projects.
- Experience driving safety and quality performance in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering and quality.
- Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical education.
- Conversational English and Spanish.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience in Engineer-to-Order (ETO), high-mix/low-volume manufacturing environments.
- AWS, ASME, or equivalent welding certifications.
- Experience supporting custom-engineered equipment manufacturing.
- Experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Experience partnering with engineering teams to resolve design-to-build challenges.
- Valid VISA and Passport.
- Automation. (Robot welding)
