DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. With some guidance from Sr. Engineers and manager, develop and design new product and manage previous product extension.
2. Provides technical support to customers, suppliers and inside personnel.
3. Coordinates product activities with mechanical engineering, manufacturing, purchasing and quality using the engineering change request (ECR) procedures.
4. Support product test by coordinating with reliability lab (write test request, gather test sample, board etc.)
5. Performs design verification activities to ensure that design meets the specifications of the customer and UL requirements.
6. Checks manufacturing and sales drawings for completeness and accuracy.
7. Responsible for loading all products released BOM’s (Bill of Material) and Material Master data sheets through SAP/software.
8. Understand, support and contribute to current Molex Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, International Standards Organization (ISO) and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S) Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures.
9. Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
SCOPE: Position to develop / support new and existing products that meet or exceed customer expectations. Support Sr. Engineers and manager on all projects in development to generate revenue and growth for Business Unit. Sr. Engineers to review designs and provide assistance as needed.
EDUCATION:
REQUIRED: Bachelor’s and Master’s degree above in physics or optics field
PREFERRED: Master’s degree in Optics or Physics
WORK EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED: 5 years (Bachelor)/3 year (Master) above previous working experience in optical communication, passive components.
PREFERRED: Design experience of optical products such as WDM, Switch, Circulator, TF, DCM or Interleave.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
REQUIRED: • Proficient in optical simulation or assembly process experience to generate the optical request or spec;
• Ability to solve complex issues in optical design and product development
• Good verbal and written skills for exchange of information in a clear and concise manner.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Knowledge of Zemax/ Math CAD / Matlab software;
• Must be self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision
PREFERRED: • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, especially optical assembly and seal packaging;
• Good knowledge of optical material properties;
